07-26-2003

more than a year has passed since i wrote anything worthwhile. so much has happened in that time, but i wont try to recap it all here.

alise is 4 now, bigger and brighter. keylie turned one, and is now upright and has found the new attitude that goes along with such changes.

sena turned 25 yesterday, and ill be 26 next month. i’m really happy here, and hope to stay indefinitely. all that in one year. maybe ill just update this thing annually; but i wont make any promises.

well, two months later i figured i should add some content to this page.

i could talk about the details but i never know whos listening so what sense does that make anymore.

what im trying to say is that i dont think ill make an effort at a personal presence here anymore. its been two months since ive thought of this site, and longer since i thought of any projects like ohhello, scribble, gbook, or the such. when im online anymore that time is spent enjoying myself with friends. and when im done enjoying i sign off. i never look at the web anymore. i never ‘surf’. its gone from utility to passion and back to utility.

im sorry, internet; ive stopped loving you.

ive tried hiatus, ive tried negligence. i think its time to say ‘the end’.

virtual car shows are quite entertaining.

the move to the new apartment is complete. we still are unpacking, adjusting. tyler is living with us again which is nice. alise has many animals to watch after now.

to all those who dont know, sena and i are expecting another little vannatter sometime in may.

i planned out my holiday schedule. we are going to arizona at the end of december, terrorism permitting.

this year my holiday cheer is different. usually these days would be spent preparing decorations for christmas. once halloween passes we go directly from orange and black to red and green. but this year we are back to white and plain.

im not into stand-up comedy all that much, but i do have a new favorite comedian: jim gaffigan. for some reason i find him hilarious. if he was touring id most definitely pay to see him perform.

sena and i saw 13 ghosts on friday. although i should probably be more critical of the acting, plot, and the teenage cheap thrill syndrome, we enjoyed the film [or possibly the atmosphere].

alise had her first real trick or treat experience on sunday. she was a ladybug for the festivities and very popular with the locals. refusing to ride in the wagon we brought with us, she walked [and sometimes ran] to each front door screaming ‘more candy!’ only to not understand the basic rules of trick or treating – when given a choice of ‘picking two’, you ALWAYS choose the two largest items. alise, when faced with the option to choose two items in a bowl full of M&Ms and Snickers bars, chose two miniature tootsie rolls. i gasp in light of her error, but she seemed content with her decision so i let it slide, taking note to school her on the correct methods when she is older.

rookies.

for the first time since i can remember, ive grown my fingernails beyond the quick. an effort which has lead to extreme chewing gum purchases and many mangled pen caps.

no ghost activity to report today, but that doesnt mean it isnt happening. we were barely home all weekend.
