Flying Time and Drones

So I’ve been wanting one of the Parrot AR Drones since they first launched a few years ago. I was a bit hesitant because it was a brand new project and was lacking some things – notably video recording.

Well, with the launch of the 2.0 drone I took the jump and purchased one.

And now I’m completely hooked. I spent the past week modding things like hulls and ball bearings and motor intakes. I’m completely geeked out on a kids toy.

Which takes me back to working on a model airplane with my dad. We never finished it; working with balsa wood and craft glue gets boring real quick when you’re 13.

Kaden and I have been having fun flying the drone around the yard, terrorizing geese, spooking neighborhood dogs. Adriana loves to chase it around, all the while giggling and jumping.

Last week while at my parents I noticed that old airplane hanging in the basement; my dad strung it up to the rafters and kept it.

Maybe we can finish it after all – we do have a lot of little helpers now.

I am happy I found out who the guy behind dream book and scribble.nu is. Those were my favorite things about the internet. I was nothing less than devastated when all my scribble entries disappeared but I had no idea you had such issues with servers. You have a brilliant mind to have been so innovative and a head of your time. I am happy to see you have found your success, as it is I am sure, well deserved.
